People in UNPLAN Shinjuku
I liked the privacy of the curtains and having a small cubby to myself. The free breakfast was good - hardboiled eggs, yogurt, granola, toast, etc. The location was good - near a bunch of small bars and restaurants, convenience stores, and multiple public transit lines within 15 minutes walk. Folks in the hostel were social and there were events where you could meet others like game and movie nights. You could also just hang with people in the common areas or during breakfast. Staff were super nice! I couldn't sleep cause I thought it was too hot and they helped turn the temp down which I greatly appreciated. The showers and bathrooms are shared -- these were cleaned regularly. Some folks would wear their slippers inside the showers despite the signage which was a bit annoying. However, these were kept pretty clean and shared toiletries were provided in the showers.

The breakfast (2 slices of bread, margarine/jam/honey, 2 eggs, apple juice/coffee/tea, yoghurt) was good. The location (9 - 15 mins walk to the subways, Shinjuku Station) is great. Many convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven just opposite). Dormitory is ventilated. Ample space in the capsule bed (with a locker, shelf, space for a medium-sized backpack, light, power points, curtain). There's a lift. Ample number of toilets and bathrooms (shampoo/soap provided). Umbrellas available for guests to borrow. Great lounge with well equipped kitchen area and fridge for guests to use. Big space (with TV) next to the reception area for meeting people. Great hardworking friendly staff ready to offer whatever assistance they can. Baggage storage for use before check in and even after checking out (locked after 10pm) - my favourite feature.

The hostel is very close to Shinjuku, so from there you can easily take different metro lines and trains and visit different places around Tokyo very easily. I stayed in a female dormitory, the beds are comfortable, there is a small locker where you can put your valuables next to the bed and plenty of space where you can just put your stuff. The luggage needs to stay in the middle of the corridor or near the door of the room. What I loved the most was the staff, very kind and fun, and the people staying there: everyone I met was amazing. Also the hostel organizes something different each night, like movie nights, parties etc.

Despite being quite a walk away from the train stations, the neighborhood where UNPLAN is located it very nice and very quiet. It had a lot of convenience store and food options nearby. The lobby was cozy and also quite stylish. The bunks themselves were nice. My friend and I also found it really cool that the property organizes events for the people staying there like movie nights, and other activities.

When reading the comments, I was a bit worried about people staying there for longer period of time, but there was no problem. Everyone was considerate of the other, it was quite and bed was clean. Easy check-in, no need of check-out. Free wifi, own little desk inside bed area with locker for wallet etc. Walking distance from Shinjuku station, really cheap. I recommend it to everyone!
